River Bank Annual Clean Up

A great turn-out on Saturday morning

Even though it had rained cats and dogs all last week and it was raining on Saturday morning, a large crowd braved the elements and turned out for the annual riverbank clean-up. The volunteers were made up of several different groups including, Trim Athboy Angling Association, Trim Tidy Towns and Aoife McGrath who is the community water officer from Meath County Council, in all about 25 people turned out of which the angling club accounted for roughly half. A big thank you to Terry Cassidy from Bird Watch Ireland who was one of the organisers. Terry will be organising a dawn choras trip in the near future if anyone from the club is interested, keep an eye out on this site for information. A big thank you to Brian Heffernan and Trim Tidy Towns who also took part. It Is intended the club will hold another clean up day when the water levels subside, we will inform all when this will take place. Lastly thank you to all of you who turned up on the day, a great job was done.
