Results of 1st Trout Competition for 2012 Season

Our trout competition season kicked off with the open bait with 28 rods competing for glory! The water level was more like  summer than spring and very clear. A light northwesterly breeze with warm sunny spells made for good conditions. Lots of techniques worked for anglers throughout the day. Their was some good reports of trout rising to various fly species, Olives,midge,black gnat and iron blue dun which shows we
have plenty of diversity on our system. On behalf of the club, I would like to thank Pat O’Toole for sponsoring this competition.
