Sunday 16th saw our anglers out for the first competition of the year, the Mick Smith Cup.
Paul French took the top spot with a fish of just under 1lb while Des Hamilton was 2nd followed closely by Mick O’Neill in 3rd place.

Sunday also saw the presentation of two awards from last year which were postponed because of Covid.
The heaviest fish of 2020 went to Martin Fagan while Fisherman of the year was won by Pat Gartland.

Pat Gartland got off to a flying start again this year when he landed a beautiful Salmon on a mayfly. After a tremendous fight on the light tackle, the fish was finally landed for a quick photo before being safely returned to continue his journey. Well done Pat.
