FISHERMAN OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2018

FISHERMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD – Pat O Toole
HEAVIEST AWARD 2018 – Paul French (trout weighing 2 lb 2.75 oz)

Let’s have a look at what our members have been up to this competition season.
Marc O Regan took a third position in the Lough Lene Cup. Noel King continued his winning streak claiming two trophies from the Bective Anglers – Charlie Woods Cup & Pat Sheridan Cup. He also won the Michael Healy Memorial Cup on Lough Lene.
Tommy Keogan & Dermot Leonard Jnr travelled to Killarney to fish the National Finals having qualified the previous year. Unfortunately, neither made the Irish team. Bective Anglers invited Trim Anglers to a friendly fish-off on their waters. A great event for all involved with Trim being victorious. You can read all about it on our website.

Some of our members participated in the Lough Mask World Cup with Dermot Leonard Jnr coming third on his heat day & Pat Toole claiming the Perpetual Challenge Cup for the heaviest trout caught over the five days with a 4.52lb trout.

ITFFA held their fundraiser on Lough Lene with a four man team of Marc O Regan, Paul French, Tommy Keogan & Dermot Leonard Jnr representing Trim Anglers. After an extremely tough days fishing our team came fourth out of twenty eight teams.

Next up was The Melvin Open with Marc O Regan, Paul French & Tommy Keogan qualifying for the final with Tommy coming a respectable ninth.
The ITTFA Leinster Qualifier was held on Lough Owel. A well run competitions with three Trim anglers qualifying for nationals next year – Tommy Keogan, Dermot Leonard Jnr & James O Neill.

On the youth front, David King represented Ireland in Draycote. He came an impressive third overall on the Irish Team. He has also qualified to represent Ireland and fish at Menteith in Scotland next year. On behalf of the club we would like to wish you every success.

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to the members who support our competitions.
